From October 14 to 15, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Uchida and several members of the Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory attended The 5th International Symposium on Green & Sustainable Technology (ISGST) held in Kampar, Malaysia.

Four students Yogi Sahat Maruli Simanjuntak, Adel Ahmed Mahmoud, Ng Shu Kai, and Dong Wenhao, as well as a postdoctoral researcher Fikry Purwa Lugina, delivered oral presentations during the symposium, showcasing their recent research findings.
In addition to the academic activities, all participants from Hiroshima University and other Japanese universities such as Kobe University, University of Toyama and National Institute of Technology, Kochi College, were invited to visit the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Kampar campus, where they engaged in fruitful discussions and exchanged ideas with local researchers.
On the way back to Japan, the group took the opportunity to explore several iconic landmarks in Kuala Lumpur, including the Petronas Twin Towers and the Kuala Lumpur Aquarium, adding a cultural dimension to their visit.
This experience not only enhanced their academic and cultural exchanges but also strengthened the collaborative ties between Hiroshima University and institutions in Malaysia.
