We attended AGU25 held in New Orleans

Members of our laboratory (Professor Tatsuhiko Uchida, D3 Wenhao Dong, D1 Hayato Kotani, M2 Takuto Unno) participated in the AGU Fall Meeting 2025 (AGU25) held in 2025.

The AGU Fall Meeting is one of the world’s largest international conferences covering all aspects of Earth science, including hydrology and hydraulic engineering, climate change, and disaster prevention.

During the conference, we attended presentations on the latest research findings and methodologies in the fields of hydraulic engineering and hydrology, engaging in active discussions with international researchers. This enabled us to grasp the global research trends in this field and gain valuable insights that will contribute to the future development of our research.

Additionally, in New Orleans, the host city, we had the opportunity to tour the urban landscape, including its local city structure, flood control facilities, and historical background. Experiencing firsthand the characteristics of a city closely tied to the field of water engineering—particularly in terms of flood countermeasures and water management in low-lying cities—was highly valuable for broadening our research.

I plan to utilize the insights and experience gained through participation in this conference in my future research activities and in guiding research within my laboratory.
