We attended Applied Mechanics Symposium

M1 students Ito and Takase participated in the 27th Symposium on Applied Mechanics held at Okayama University on May 25 and 26, 2024.

Ito presented “Determination of Water Depth and Flow Velocity from Water Surface Fluctuations” and Takase presented “Relationship between the shape of the waterfall and the upstream flow“.

I forgot to take a picture of myself (Ito) during my presentation…

Both students were nervous because it was the first time for them to present at a conference, but I think they gained a lot from the discussions with various people.

What I personally felt was good was that I was able to attend the reception held on the evening of the 25th.

I was a little worried because I was probably the only participant from HUGE and I did not know the atmosphere of the reception, but I had a very meaningful time talking not only with researchers in the hydrological field but also with researchers in other fields and doctoral students.

We will continue to pursue my research in the future.
